Makeup Masterclass with Frootibeauty

Hey dolls, last Sunday myself and a few other girls went to the Pink Crust salon in Hackney, east London to attend a makeup masterclass held by the amazing Safiyah, a freelance makeup artist and fellow blogger who writes Frootibeauty.

I have been a fan of her makeup style and have admired her skills for a long time now, so when this opportunity came about, I eagerly put my name down on the list to be a part of her class! Safiyah demonstrated one of her most popular makeup looks for us to learn and try for ourselves: the Naked Arab look using the Naked Palette from Urban Decay (please excuse the no makeup picture which is about to follow!)

Safiyah demonstrated the techniques used to create this look on one of my eyes. The girls watched and asked questions (I watched everything through a mirror) and then Safiyah asked us to work on creating the look by ourselves.

Safiyah was close by to offer advice and help when needed, but to be honest, she is such a great teacher that we all just got on with it!

Once we had learnt the eye makeup Safiyah showed us how to finish off the look using foundation and lipstick.

And here is the complete look!

The masterclass was definitely helpful and excellent for those with basic makeup skills like me or even those with much more established skills. Safiyah has a very informal, relaxed approach to teaching and it was so easy to follow what she had shown us. I learnt so many skills and some excellent techniques from the day and thoroughly enjoyed myself!

If you are interested in joining one of Safiyah's makeup masterclasses please visit her blog here.

Thank you to Safiyah and Sheenie for the photographs used in this post (as I was unable to take many on the day, being the one sat in the chair during the demo!)
